NYC property records by address

Every NYC tax lot has a public record spread across several city agencies: building filings and permits at the Department of Buildings, housing violations at HPD, recorded documents at the Department of Finance, and lot and zoning attributes from City Planning. Start with an address to find the lot, then follow each record to its source.

Free and anonymous: returns the borough, block, lot (BBL) and building number (BIN). The full record for a lot needs a free account.

Building permits and job filings

Housing Maintenance Code violations

HPD issues Class A, B, and C violations for residential buildings and publishes their status, inspection dates, and correction deadlines.

Recorded documents (ACRIS)
